The Trim Size is the final size of your book after it is printed, bound. For example, a trim size of 6×9 means the printed book will be six inches wide and nine inches tall.
Industry Standard and Custom Trim Sizes
- Industry standard trim sizes can be sold on Amazon.com and are eligible for all distribution outlets within the Expanded Distribution Channel (EDC).
- Paperbacks with white paper must have an industry standard trim size (See below). Books with cream paper must have one of the following trim sizes: 5″ x 8″, 5.25″ x 8″, 5.5″ x 8.5″, or 6″ x 9″.
- Custom trim sizes can be sold on Amazon.com, but are ineligible for the Bookstores and Online Retailers distribution outlet within the EDC.
- The default trim size for a KDP book is 6×9
In KDP, you will set the Trim Size of your book under Print Options in the Paperback Content section.
